How do I reserve my place in class?
Please e-mail me to tell me of your interest in a particular class and I will tell you if there is a space. If so, to hold your place, please send a check made out to “Paula’s Parisian Pastries” and mailed to 3108 Black Chestnut Lane, Chevy Chase, MD 20815.
Is there a minimum number of students for a custom class?
Yes, four students.
Do you teach private classes?
Yes, but I charge the cost of the 4 person minimum – for adults $200, for kids under 12, $120.
Are your classes Kosher?
Yes. I use separate equipment for dairy and parve baking and only purchase products with serious kosher certification. I do not have formal kosher certification for the classes.
Will you teach at my location?
Yes. I often teach groups and do parties on location. I would have to do a site visit to make sure you have suitable facilities for the type of class you want. For kids’ classes/parties, there must be a place for each child to sit.
What do I wear?
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes you can stand in. I will provide aprons for you to wear.
What do I bring?
Just your enthusiasm and appetite.
What if I get sick and have to cancel?
You may cancel with a full refund up to one week prior to the class date. After that date, you may apply your payment toward a future class ONLY IF the spot is filled by another student.
Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes
What if I am baking for someone with food allergies or limitations?
Please bring that to my attention. I have helped people find substitutions and creative ways to make desserts even with the most challenging combinations of allergies. I have advised diabetics, people with celiac disease and many others.
Is there parking near the class?
Yes, there is street parking but please, do not block any driveways.
How can I get there using public transportation?
I am in between Bethesda and Silver Spring Metro stations, from which you can take a taxi or bus. There is limited bus service that goes to Jones Bridge Road near Jones Mill Road, very close to the class location.
